Silicone Separator

Silicone Separator (Silicone‑Rubber Separator) is a dry physical sorting unit specially designed to remove elastic silicone, rubber and elastomer contaminants from crushed rigid plastic regrind.

Product Overview

Silicone Separator (Silicone‑Rubber Separator) is a dry physical sorting unit specially designed to remove elastic silicone, rubber and elastomer contaminants from crushed rigid plastic regrind. Since silicone and many rubbers share similar density with common plastics, traditional water‑based density separation cannot separate them effectively. This machine makes use of differences in friction coefficient and rebound elasticity to achieve reliable dry‑type purification.

Usually deployed after plastic crushing and metal removal processes, it greatly improves final plastic flake purity, avoiding silicone contamination during re‑pelletizing. Supported by direct‑factory cooperation, SENKOTH silicone separators deliver stable impurity‑removal performance for plastic recycling and e‑waste recycling plants worldwide.

Raw Materials & Final Outputs

Raw Materials (Input): Dry crushed plastic fragments after metal removal, including shredded home‑appliance plastic shells, e‑waste plastic scrap, automotive plastic fragments, toy regrind, mixed rigid‑plastic flakes containing silicone and rubber impurities.

Finished Products (Output): ‑ Clean rigid plastic flakes: high‑purity plastic material ready for washing and pelletizing ‑ Reject fraction: silicone, rubber, elastomer particles, together with minor lightweight impurities

Key Features & Advantages

  • Friction‑Rebound Physical Sorting: Separates silicone and rubber from rigid plastics by elasticity and friction difference, no water or chemical consumption.
  • High Impurity Removal Rate: Effective removal of silicone and rubber contaminants, improves final plastic product quality.
  • Adjustable Operating Parameters: Adjustable roller speed and deck inclination to adapt different particle sizes and material compositions.
  • Dry‑Process Design: No waste‑water discharge, low running cost, meets environmental‑protection requirements.
  • Easy Production‑Line Integration: Matches perfectly with crushers, trommel screens, magnetic separators and conveying systems.
  • Compact Closed‑Body Structure: Small workshop footprint, inspection doors for convenient internal maintenance.
  • Stable Continuous Operation: Heavy‑duty frame, suitable for long‑hour running in recycling workshops.

Working Principle

Mixed crushed materials are evenly fed into the sorting chamber. Rigid plastic particles feature low friction and weak elasticity; they slide along rotating rollers and are discharged as clean plastic output. Silicone, rubber and elastic fragments have high friction and strong rebound property. They grip the rollers, bounce and travel to a separate reject outlet. Operators adjust roller speed and inclination angle to optimize separation effect for different feedstock conditions.
